    The Center for Environmental Health has a proven track record of reducing exposure to toxic chemicals, but we can’t do it alone. As the Major Gifts Specialist, you will be a dynamic member of the Philanthropic Partnerships team working alongside the Senior Director of Advancement and Philanthropic Partnerships. You will hold a portfolio of major and mid-level donors, conduct prospect research, manage donors and stewardship. Lastly, you will be a lead in events management for in-person and online events.

    Your work will bolster meaningful public health advocacy and consumer protection cases that deeply impact people and the environment.     What You’ll Do (Top Priorities):

    • Cultivate, deepen, and steward relationships with a portfolio of major and mid-level donors through personalized engagement and solicitation strategies to inspire significant giving.
    • Proactively identify and qualify new potential major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to expand CEH’s philanthropic reach and impact.
    • Articulate CEH’s compelling mission and urgent funding needs with passion and clarity to secure significant financial contributions that fuel our critical work.
    • Lead the planning and execution of impactful online and in-person events that cultivate donor relationships and raise essential funds for our environmental health initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate records in our CRM (Salesforce) to enable data-driven reporting and collaborative strategy development with the Senior Director.
    • Other tasks as needed to support the fundraising goals and objectives of the Philanthropic Partnerships team.

    What You’ll Bring (Top Priorities):

    • 3-5 years of progressive experience in major gifts fundraising and event management within a non-profit setting.
    • Proven ability to cultivate and steward relationships with high-level donors, resulting in successful solicitations.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
    • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional working experience
    • Ability to travel regularly, including to CEH headquarters in Oakland, CA, up to 30% annually.

    Salary:

    We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000 per year. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. Our offices are open, and we are operating in a hybrid model.
