    Description

    Job Summary : The Event and Donor Relations Specialist is a vital member of the Development team, dedicated to establishing, nurturing, and expanding relationships with CVIM's donors and vendors. This role is responsible for organizing, implementing, and managing fundraising and stewardship events. Additionally, the Event and Donor Relations Specialist supports various development activities, including gift processing, data reporting, donor prospecting, and other stewardship initiatives.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve as an integral member of the Development team, working closely with staff, volunteers, and Committee members to achieve fundraising goals.
    • Plan and execute all fundraising and stewardship events from start to finish, in collaboration with the Development team. The current annual calendar includes four major events and many smaller-scale events, with continued growth expected in this area.
    • Efficiently process donations and acknowledge donors, utilizing the database to generate fundraising reports, support relationship-building efforts, and meticulously track opportunities for the major gifts team. Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the donor database and utilize Excel for data analysis and reporting.
    • Drive collaborative planning and lead the execution of CVIM’s donor stewardship and recognition strategies, which include multiple giving societies.
    • Draft customized event materials, working alongside the Marketing & Communications Manager to produce event-related materials, including copywriting.
    • Support donor relationship management by researching prospects and donors, preparing reports, and evaluating potential donors.
    • Support the major gifts team as prospects progress through the pipeline, from qualification to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

    Qualifications

    • Two years or more of demonstrated success with event management, preferably in a non-profit setting.
    • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Strong written and communication skills; ability to present information effectively.
    • Strong computer skills, including a high level of proficiency with Excel.
    • Experience with a donor/customer relational database is strongly preferred. Understanding of Donor Perfect would be helpful; not required.
    • Strong analytical and research skills to provide data-driven insights for fundraising strategies.
    • Highly collaborative style and cultural competence to work with all constituent groups.
    • Commitment to maintaining discretion when handling donor information.
    • Ability to represent CVIM professionally in a variety of settings, develop relationships, promote teamwork, and accomplish common objectives.
    • College degree preferred, but not required.
    • Available to work at events held on evenings and weekends.
