    COLLEGE VISIONS WOONSOCKET SUMMER PREP INSTRUCTOR

Founded in 2004, CV was piloted with 10 students and has grown to reach nearly 500 young people annually. 97% of participants enroll in college, and 71% earn a degree within 6 years, surpassing local and national norms.     About CV Woonsocket Summer Prep: College Visions’ Woonsocket Summer Prep is a five-week in-person college and career readiness program for rising 9th through 12th graders attending high school in Woonsocket. Throughout the program, students will develop critical social, academic, career, and life skills that will help them discover pathways to college and careers. Students will participate in engaging classroom instruction, company site visits, college visits, and community-building activities. They will complete college and career milestones every week while earning a stipend.

    Summary: The CV Woonsocket Summer Prep Instructor will be based at the Woonsocket Education Center, located at 115 Main Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895. In this role, the instructor will be responsible for delivering the Woonsocket Summer Prep Curriculum while providing instruction, guidance, and support to students in a classroom setting. The position also includes hosting student and parent office hours within working hours. As a member of the CV Summer Prep Team, the instructor will participate in training and benefit from ongoing support through weekly team meetings.

    Management: The CV Summer Prep Instructor reports to College Visions’ Director of Programs.

    Hours and Schedule: This is a contract position that includes about 130 contact hours. The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM, from July 7 through August 7, 2025. Training for this position is scheduled for late June 2025.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead classroom instruction and activities using the CV Summer Prep college and career curriculum
    • Adapt lessons and instructional plans to address the diverse needs and learning styles of students (as needed)
    • Create a positive and engaging classroom experience that supports social/emotional growth
    • Provide effective classroom management and adherence to operational policies and procedures
    • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to students and schedule individual meetings with students and parents to discuss goals and progress
    • Maintain communication with students and their families
    • Keep accurate, detailed student records, including contact information, demographics, weekly assignments and student outputs, and program outcomes
    • Complete administrative tasks, including student data entry, maintenance of records, and adherence to financial and HR policies

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
    • Valid RI teaching certification (Special Education and Multilingual Learner a plus) or at least three years of professional youth development experience or a related field

    • Collaborative, energetic, positive, and flexible
    • Employment is contingent on a background check

    Salary: $6,000 ($300 per day).
