    About the Gynecologic Cancers Research Foundation

    The Gynecologic Cancers Research Foundation (GCRF) a Maryland 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, is looking for a full-time Executive Director. GCRF’s current focus is helping to develop and implement cervical cancer screening protocols to be used in resource poor countries. As such, the GCRF has teamed up with the US National Cancer Institute (NCI) in its Cervical Cancer Moonshot program:

    As part of this effort, the GCRF is participating in the NCI’s PAVE study which is a 50,000 women study that is being used to validate a screen and treat algorithm based on self-swab HPV testing and AI interpretation of digital cervical images. The GCRF’s goal is to screen and treat 10,000-15,000 Cambodian garment workers as well as Cambodian women living with HIV. The GCRF hopes to expand into new countries of interest and collaborate with local partners and health care providers to establish cervical cancer screening and treatment programs. Potential countries of interest include Peru, India, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Fundraising:

    • Identifying funding sources to continue the GCRF’s mission
    • Engaging with US-based corporations who utilize the Cambodian garment factories (Nike, Gap, Target, etc.)
    • Establishing partnerships with private foundations focusing on women’s health, HIV care, and cancer
    • Identifying and completing grant proposals

    Operations:

    • Overseeing the creation and management of field sites
    • Procuring supplies for field projects
    • Coordinating with local partners to develop new field sites for cervical cancer screening and treatment programs
    • Expanding current programming to new countries, working to understand how programming may need to adapt to different cultures

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of program results
    • Analyzing data to evaluate the program progress toward its goals
    • Writing reports and other documents as needed for publication

    Marketing and Communications:

    • Promoting the work of the GCRF to establish the foundation as a leader in cervical cancer screening and treatment programming
    • Maintaining donor and volunteer relations
    • Managing other staff in culturally appropriate ways
    • Coordinating the release of program updates via news outlets, relevant industry journals, etc.

    Skills and Qualifications

    The GCRF is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applicants of diverse backgrounds to apply. Applicants with experience in the above noted areas of responsibility are encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate for this position is an experienced public health advocate with a knowledge of and a passion for the field of global women’s health with:

    • 5-7 years’ experience in international public health senior program management, including writing, implementing, and evaluating grants in the public health sector.
    • Relevant public-private partnership experience is required, managerial experience with related projects is preferred.
    • At least 2 years’ experience with fundraising in the non-profit sector is preferred but not required.
    • Proven ability to develop and implement international programming, with a focus on local partner collaboration and skills exchange.
    • Experience with organizing and coordinating teams to produce deliverables and reach outcomes of programs, and experience working with health professionals, policy makers and healthcare system.
    • Proven expertise in marketing and communications is preferred.

    Position Overview

    • Full time/Remote: some travel may be required to field sites.
    • Salary range: $75,000 to $90,000. Salary negotiable and commensurate with experience.
