    About WriterCoach Connection

WriterCoach Connection is an educational nonprofit that provides coaching for East Bay public school students in critical thinking and writing. WriterCoach Connection has coached 38,000+ middle and high school students in English, English Language Development, and other subjects/learning academies in four school districts for more than 20 years.

We train volunteers as coaches who engage middle and high school students to think critically and express their ideas confidently in writing. Our coaches bring their commitment to public education and their passion for writing to our students. We partner with under-resourced schools and meet students where they are academically and emotionally. To support teacher instruction and to ensure equity in the classroom, our coaches provide individualized attention to every student in the class, whether in person or online.

Our vision is that all students discover the power and richness of their own voices and learn to communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence to enable them to participate successfully in personal and academic challenges, career options, and community conversations. We know that as these students succeed, the entire community benefits.

WriterCoach Connection is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. Our WCC community is diverse and inclusive and we prioritize recruiting and retaining applicants of color. We strive to support our students by ensuring that our staff and coaches reflect the demographics of our student body.
