180 Turning Lives Around, LLC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to individuals and families affected by domestic and sexual violence. Our mission is to empower survivors, promote safety, and create lasting social change through advocacy, education, and support services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Operations reports to the CEO and serves as a key strategic and operational leader within the organization.
Organizational Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee and continuously improve internal systems, processes, and policies to ensure high-functioning day-to-day operations.
- Manage the organization’s administrative and support services including IT, vendor contracts, and facilities.
- Lead emergency preparedness and ensure facilities are trauma-informed, safe, and accessible for staff and survivors.
- Monitor and support program infrastructure needs, working collaboratively across departments to troubleshoot barriers to effective service delivery
Human Resources & Culture
- Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, policy implementation, training, employee relations, benefits administration, and staff wellness initiatives in collaboration with external HR vendors/partners when needed.
- Support the development of equitable hiring and personnel practices aligned with trauma-informed and survivor-centered values.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and leadership team on organizational culture, morale, and staff capacity planning.
Compliance, Risk Management & Reporting
- Ensure the organization is in compliance with state, federal, and funder-related administrative requirements.
- Develop and manage organizational policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, safety, and workplace conduct.
- Support audit preparation, insurance renewals, and risk mitigation strategies.
Technology & Data Systems
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of IT systems and data platforms used across the organization.
- Partner with program leaders to ensure systems support client services, data collection, and funder reporting needs.
- Lead efforts to ensure data privacy and security in accordance with applicable regulations.
Development & Fundraising Oversight
- Supervise the Development team, providing strategic leadership in fundraising planning, donor stewardship, and grant management.
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer to advance a culture of philanthropy and engage donors, foundations, and community supporters.
- Ensure integration of fundraising goals with program and financial planning.
- Review and approve major funding proposals and event strategies, and ensure systems for donor data management are maintained effectively.
Government Affairs & Public Sector Support
- Support the CEO and leadership team in managing relationships with government funders, policymakers, and public agencies.
- Assist in advocacy efforts, including helping to prepare briefing materials, talking points, and presentations for meetings with elected officials or agency leaders.
- Track public policy developments relevant to the organization’s mission and help coordinate responses or positioning in collaboration with leadership.
Leadership & Strategic Support
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to operationalize strategic goals and priorities.
- Provide staff supervision and professional development opportunities to direct reports.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to foster integration and innovation across programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit operations, administration, or organizational leadership.
- Experience managing human resources and compliance is required, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, gender equity, and the mission of ending domestic and sexual violence.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and how they apply to workplace and operational settings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using technology to streamline operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively identify needs, solve problems, and take initiative to drive tasks and projects forward.
