    POSITION OVERVIEW: The Strategic Events Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all internal and external events for Mamatoto Village. This includes but is not limited to donor events, fundraising galas, community engagements, staff retreats, and programmatic events. The ideal candidate is a seasoned event strategist with a passion for building meaningful and mission-aligned experiences and a demonstrated ability to manage events from concept to execution.

    ATTRIBUTES OF A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE

    • At least 4 years of experience in event planning, event coordination, and/or event management
    • A clear grasp of the core components of strategic communication
    • Proven track record of planning and executing successful large-scale and small-scale inclusive, accessible, and affirming events.

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and vendor negotiation skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership and Strategy

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual events strategy aligned with Mamatoto Village’s organizational goals in collaboration with leadership and key departments.
    • Develop and revise protocols, policies, and procedures for Mamatoto Village's internal and external events.
    • Create SOPs for internal and external event processes
    • Manage email correspondence, including responding to inquiries, drafting messages, and prioritizing urgent communications.

    External Event Planning and Coordination

    • Lead all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor contracts, catering, A/V, permits, transportation, and security (if applicable,) with support from the Director of Communications & Development.
    • Oversee event registration processes, attendee communication, and post-event evaluation.
    • Manage timelines, budgets, and production schedules to ensure seamless execution of all events.
    • Supervise on-site staff, volunteers, and event contractors during events.

    Internal Event Planning and Coordination

    • Build out an internal annual event calendar in collaboration with leadership and key departments.
    • Collaborate with other department leads to plan and execute meaningful programmatic events for Mamatoto Village’s target audience.
    • Lead the logistical coordination of the annual family cookout and staff retreat.
    • Maintain clear documentation of all internal events, including debriefs and lessons learned.

    SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS TO FOSTER SUCCESS

    • A bachelor’s degree and experience will be considered a supplement to educational attainment.
    • At least 4 years of experience in event planning, event coordination, and/or event management
    • At least 3 years of people management experience
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • A proactive and adaptable attitude, with a strong attention to detail.
    • Experience working with online platforms such as Mailchimp((or comparable email marketing software), Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, Google products.
    • A “teamwork” mindset and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, and resolve problems
