    Summary:

    The Data and Finance Analyst is responsible for managing and integrating the agency’s client, donor, and financial data systems to ensure data integrity, optimize reporting, and support organizational decision-making. This role supervises the Data Coordinator and works across departments—including Finance, Programs, and Advancement—to manage reporting workflows, provide data analysis, and uphold internal controls related to data quality and compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, nonprofit finance understanding, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Ensures that the mission and values of the organization are upheld and that the face of FUCI reflects compassion for all, integrity in practices, and professionalism overall.
      • Serve as the agency’s lead on database systems (e.g., CSMS, NeonCRM, QuickBooks) and data strategy.
      • Oversee the entry, coding, verification, and reporting of all client, donor, and financial data.
      • Supervise the Data Coordinator and ensure alignment with agency goals and compliance standards.
      • Develop dashboards and analytic tools to visualize and interpret trends across programs and fundraising efforts.
      • Produce internal and external reports including grant metrics, CSBG submissions, CAP data, audit materials, and fundraising dashboards.
      • Ensure consistency and accuracy of data through periodic audits, quality checks, and training protocols.
      • Support and apply ROMA principles in reporting on community impact.
      • Reconcile donor and gift data between CRM (e.g., NeonCRM) and QuickBooks.
      • Ensure accurate fund coding and proper allocation of gifts and in-kind donations across programs.
      • Collaborate with Development and Programs to confirm designations and prepare reconciliation reports.
      • Track, monitor, and report financial metrics for audits, grant compliance, and internal review.
      • Maintain documentation of financial records and transactions aligned with nonprofit audit standards.
      • Process and track vendor invoices, match purchase orders, and schedule check/electronic disbursements.
      • Maintain accurate records of vendor accounts and ensure W-9 and supporting documents are current.
      • Record and deposit revenue, reconcile income across funding sources, and follow up on outstanding invoices.
      • Assist in payroll processing, including timecard reconciliation, payroll reporting, and employee questions.
      • Serve as a backup to Finance Coordinator as needed for core financial tasks.
      • Ensure accurate logging and acknowledgment of in-kind donations.
      • Participate in audit preparation, including pulling financial data and supporting documentation.
      • Provide staff training on database entry standards, financial tracking, and data protocols.
      • Troubleshoot access, permissions, and technical issues in collaboration with IT support.
      • Maintain written procedures (SOPs) for data and finance systems, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
      • Research and recommend new tools or system upgrades to improve data integrity and financial tracking.
      • Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory:

    Directly supervises the Data Coordinator, supporting their development, workflow management, and performance reviews.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field required.
    • 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, accounting support, or nonprofit operations required.
    • Strong experience with CRM platforms (e.g., NeonCRM), QuickBooks, and Excel is essential.
    • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with ROMA, grant-based reporting, and fund accounting is a strong plus.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    • Proficient in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables), data visualization, and financial reconciliations.
    • Knowledge of AP/AR principles, bookkeeping, and nonprofit finance systems.
    • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing deadlines and high-volume data.
    • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across departments and technical levels.
    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with initiative and follow-through.

    Work Environment:

    • The work is typically performed in an office environment, with a moderate noise level.
    • Occasional travel to other company locations may be required including overnight may be occasionally required.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to sit, stand, and move as needed to complete requisite paperwork.
    • Ability to commute to other FUCI locations if necessary.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in person and on the telephone.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. of employee and business files.
    • Ability to work at a computer terminal for the bulk of the workload for this position.
