    Job Summary

    Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA) is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Museum Educator to inspire students and educators through dynamic visual arts programming. This role is ideal for someone passionate about contemporary art, arts education, and creating joyful learning experiences for K-12 students. The Museum Educator will develop, lead, and administer educational programs that support creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. This is a part-time, hourly position with strong potential for full-time, benefits-eligible employment. Join a collaborative team dedicated to enriching lives through the arts.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, promote, and lead engaging exhibition tours for students, creating memorable museum experiences.
    • Collaborate with educators to design and facilitate arts integration curriculum for classroom and digital use.
    • Manage preparation of art materials, classroom supplies, and maintain learning spaces.
    • Track program participation, collect data, and support program evaluation efforts.
    • Coordinate program schedules with school partners and maintain clear documentation.
    • Assist in marketing efforts to promote K-12 programs in partnership with the marketing team.
    • Archive lesson plans, student work samples, and curricular materials.
    • Participate in team meetings, educator advisory committees, and community engagement events.
    • Represent SVMoA with professionalism and enthusiasm in the community.
    • Support additional programs, family workshops, teen events, and volunteer docent coordination as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, Education, or a related field required.
    • Experience or interest in museum education, arts integration, and contemporary art.
    • Passion for working with students across all grade levels.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in project and record management.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Apple applications; familiarity with social media preferred.
    • Spanish language skills highly desirable.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
    • Successful completion of a background check required.
