    Position Overview: Hope Station is on a mission—and we’re looking for a connector, a doer, and a passionate community builder to help us make that mission shine. As our new Community Engagement & Operations Coordinator, you’ll be the bridge between Hope Station and the heart of Cumberland County. This position requires attendance at community meetings, giving presentations that inspire action, and developing programs that reflect the needs and hopes of our neighbors. You'll also help with our day-to-day operations. You will work closely with our Executive Director, contributing to strategy and execution alike. Whether it’s planning events, designing outreach efforts, writing compelling materials, or creating partnerships that bring lasting impact, your work will help Hope Station live out its purpose with excellence. This position is not remote eligible, and reports to the Executive Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operations

    • Coordinates the use of Hope Station’s facilities by partners and community members by responding to requests, following approval protocol, maintaining a community calendar, and ensuring the facilities are properly maintained and kept.
    • Provide administrative assistance such as managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining organizational records.
    • Support Hope Station’s accountant by preparing invoices, receipts, and financial statements. Also, works with the executive director to coordinate check signatures and to deliver payments.
    • Oversees Hope Station’s summer scholarship program. Works with families who meet the income requirements for summer scholarships by paying tuition/fees related to approved summer scholarship activities. Prepare reporting for the executive director to communicate outcomes to Partnership for Better Health.
    • Supports the executive director with grant reporting processes by compiling necessary documents and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
    • Handle office supplies inventory, equipment maintenance, and other general operational needs.
    • Maintain and update donor database. Ensure data integrity and use information to support fundraising and outreach efforts.

    Community Engagement & Outreach

    • Develop and implement strategies to increase community participation and awareness of Hope Station’s initiatives.
    • Represent Hope Station at community events, meetings, and outreach activities when the Executive Director is unavailable.
    • Coordinate volunteer engagement efforts and create opportunities for community involvement.
    • Maintain accurate records of community partnerships, outreach activities, and program data.
    • Assist in organizing workshops, training sessions, and special events.
    • Stay informed about local issues, policies, and trends that affect the community.

    Qualifications

    • A community-minded, detail-loving multitasker who thrives in a mission-driven environment.
    • Someone with strong communication skills—both written and spoken.
    • A people person with a passion for equity, justice, and neighborhood empowerment.
    • Comfortable managing projects, calendars, and community-facing events.
    • Previous experience in community outreach, nonprofit operations, administration, or related fields preferred.
    • Experience with event planning, volunteer management, and public speaking preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.
    • Commitment to the mission and values of Hope Station.
    • Ability to interpret program policies and procedures; ability to independently plan, organize and carry out work assignments; ability to maintain positive business relationships with other employees, agencies and with the public; ability to work with information that is both sensitive and confidential in nature; ability to review the work of others as assigned.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.

    Additional Considerations

    • Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and outreach efforts.
