    The Opportunity

    Reporting to the President and serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President of Advancement will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the College’s fundraising efforts. This position is ideal for a mission-driven, senior advancement professional ready to build a department from the ground up and take on both strategic and hands-on responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities

      Develop and implement a comprehensive advancement strategy aligned with the College’s mission.

        Collaborate with senior leadership, Trustees, and the newly established Foundation Committee to expand the donor base and increase philanthropic support.

          Personally cultivate and manage a portfolio of major donors and institutional partners.

            Oversee alumni relations, development operations, and donor stewardship initiatives.

              Manage two direct reports: a Senior Manager of Development Operations and an Administrative Coordinator.

                Serve as a strategic advisor and liaison to the Foundation Committee and broader College community.

                Qualifications

                  10+ years of progressive experience in advancement/fundraising, ideally in higher education or the nonprofit sector.

                    Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising and donor cultivation.

                      Strong strategic, operational, and leadership skills with experience building or scaling a department.

                        Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of fundraising and engagement.

                          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

                            Proficiency with donor CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang) and Microsoft Office Suite.

                            Work Environment

                            This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) hybrid position based in Boston, MA, with in-person work currently expected on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The hybrid model is subject to periodic review.
