    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Manager, Construction Initiatives is responsible for executing a variety of tasks in support of AFSP’s initiative to prevent suicide in the construction industry, including delivering presentations, leading training for presenters, developing and/or refining program content, and collaborating with staff to ensure that all programmatic and training needs are executed. Excellent presentation and communication skills are critical for this role. Candidates who are fluent and can deliver presentations in English and Spanish are preferred.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support Train the Trainer and Training for Presenter Construction Programs. Deliver high quality training for presenters and trainers to ensure presenters in the construction industry are equipped to deliver programs to fidelity.
    • Deliver (in-person and virtually) prevention education programs on a regular basis to partners in the construction industry, AFSP chapters, and at construction industry conferences.
    • Work with the team to support partnerships with external organizations that focus on reaching construction professionals, developing goals and strategies for program partnership, development, and implementation. Support partnerships with construction organizations to create and deliver tailored training plans and prevention/postvention resources.
    • Contribute and support a training strategy to prepare Chapters in effective outreach and program delivery to the construction industry.
    • Contribute to internal and external dialogue and execute tasks that advances our approach to delivering programs.
    • In collaboration with the team, participate in the development of effective, clear, and easy to understand messages, ensure that messaging is research-based and evidence-informed and applicable to the construction industry.
    • Actively collaborate within and across interdisciplinary teams, including teams, committees, and other efforts to support internal processes or goals, promote effective organizational culture, or build our public image and brand.
    • Provide ongoing content review and updates, including collaborating with communications on developing promotional materials for a variety of media outlets, following AFSP requirements and guidelines.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Bachelor's degree in public health, communications, business administration or a related field

    Experience 2-3 years’ relevant professional experience delivering high quality presentations.

    Licenses/Certificates N/A

    Technology/Equipment Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint, Proficiency in project management software

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Master’s degree in public health, Communications, or Business Administration

    Experience and/or Training 5+ years’ relevant professional experience in Developing and/or delivering health education programming to diverse audiences

    Languages Spoken: Fluent in English and Spanish
