    This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) based in Seattle, WA. The role is primarily in-office, with the option to work remotely one day per week.

If spreadsheets and business systems make your heart sing and you’re a master at making complex processes feel effortless, we want you to join us as a Finance Manager at Watershed Community Development in a role that combines the responsibilities of a full-charge bookkeeper with the ability to build and maintain business workflows and technology systems.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain full-cycle accounting including AP/AR, payroll, journal entries, bank reconciliations, month-end close procedures, and balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports for internal stakeholders
    • Support budget and grant tracking including managing the fiscal sponsorship programs.
    • Assist with annual audit and preparation of Form 990
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls.
    • Develop, document, and maintain efficient business workflows across finance, administration, and program operations functions.
    • Recommend and implement technology tools (e.g., cloud accounting, time tracking, expense management)
    • Serve as a key resource for staff onboarding to finance/admin systems.
    • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
    • Demonstrated experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or equivalent accountability with additional experience improving business workflows or implementing administrative systems.
    • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online. Proficient with Microsoft software systems including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience with AppFolio, Gusto, Bill.com, Concur, Little Green Light (CRM) or other similar business tools preferred.
    • Ability to effectively communicate in a variety of ways with diverse groups of people including experience supporting and collaborating with staff, board members, contractors, tenants, and community members.
    • Organized, self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail.
    • Ability to respond to stressful and/or quickly changing situations with grace and humor.

    • Watershed Community Development is a community-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that operates Equinox Studios, a complex of over 170 artist and artisan workspaces. Watershed is preparing to build over 600 units of workforce housing and community space along 4th Avenue S. in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle.
