The NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices.
We are seeking a talented and motivated full-time Research Associate for the randomized controlled trial: “Treating Maternal PTSD to Enhance Parenting and Reduce Maltreatment Recidivism: Safe Mothers, Safe Children (SMSC).” This study, an exciting collaboration between the Administration for Child Services and NYU, aims to improve the identification, case management, and treatment of mothers with trauma-related disorders who are raising young children, and receiving child welfare preventive services to reduce the risk of repeat maltreatment and improve positive parenting. This role is for someone with an interest in the cutting edge of social science research and systems changes.
Working with a team of clinicians and investigators, and reporting to the Project Director, the Research Associate oversees day-to-day study operations.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $65,000- $80,000, commensurate with experience.
