    Community and Health Programs:

    The Community and Health Programs department consists of two main programs, the Center and the food pantry. The Center is a community center for older adults that focuses on building connections among older adults and their community, supporting health and wellness, and providing social service support and resource connection. This is achieved through a robust schedule of weekly activities and special events including arts, fitness, mindfulness, socialization, daily meals, and educational opportunities as well as through individualized services through health coaching and case management. The food pantry is available to anyone in the community, regardless of age, with an emphasis on healthy, fresh options, and client choice.

    Scope of Position:

    We are seeking a passionate and client driven leader with experience in working with older adults or community-based programs and supervising. The Community & Health Programs Director will develop and lead services that support older adults and individuals who are food insecure with a focus on creating a welcoming space for participants and supporting the local community in age and ability friendly initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety in their day to day including program planning, staff development, and working directly with clients and volunteers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Direct Service and Support:

    • Oversee the delivery of Center and pantry services, ensuring clients receive impactful support based on their needs
    • Cultivate and model a sense of community and learning culture among clients and staff
    • Adjust programing to best support changing client needs, as necessary
    • Develop and co-lead the Center’s Research Advisory Board and Senior Advisory Council
    • Maintain and develop partnerships with community organizations and businesses in support of programs
    • Support promotion and advertising efforts of programs
    • Create and lead programming in alignment with agency mission, goals, and strategic plan
    • Represent LSH at community events, donor meetings and events, and media opportunities, as needed
    • Fulfill funding contract obligations, keeping appropriate records and maintaining consistent communication with funders
    • Manage and track program budgets and spending
    • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor

    Supervisory Duties:

    • Supervise and support Center and Pantry staff, fostering an environment of learning, growth, and excellence
    • Ensure staff complete timely and accurate data collection

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or 3 years of program management and supervisory experience
    • Commit to completing Enhance Wellness program training within first 30-days of employment
    • Commit to completing 40-hour Domestic Violence training within first 90-days of employment
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Email, some Excel) and typing skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
    • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to seek assistance and support when needed
    • Strong problem-solving skills

    Level of Language Proficiency
