    Description

    Cambridge Neighbors (CN) is looking for a talented, dedicated professional with a genuine interest in enhancing the well-being and independence of seniors who are planning to age in their own homes and communities. The Assistant Director will be the primary point of contact for CN’s 220 members who are aged 60 and over. The requirements for the Assistant Director are broad and diverse.

    Applying superb administrative, customer service, organizational and technology skills, the selected candidate will:

      • Interact daily by phone, through email and in person with members and clients who request services and/or attend programming held in the CN office
      • Assist CN members with service requests including vendor referrals, event registrations, volunteer service requests, and other transactions
      • Maintain the organization’s comprehensive data management platform for members, volunteers, services, and programming creating and generating reports using information from that source
      • Oversee the design and production of computer-generated membership materials, monthly newsletters, and weekly eblasts
      • Lead the organization’s Programming Committee in the development and implementation of monthly member programming
      • Organize and oversee tasks assigned to office volunteers
      • Coordinate billing for annual member renewal fees, process new member applications, and work with CN’s bookkeeper on other charges
      • Assist the Executive Director as needed

    Job Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree with relevant customer service experience
      • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills indicating an ability to interact effectively with members and clients and work collaboratively as part of a team
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy office
      • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
      • Strong digital literacy with a demonstrated ability to utilize relevant software including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, applications for data analysis and presentation (e.g. Helpful Village), Constant Contact, and social media platforms
      • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
      • Sense of humor

    Cambridge Neighbors is a non-profit, member-driven organization dedicated to promoting healthy aging and aging in place to adults residing in Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Somerville, and Watertown by providing them access to resources, services, life-long learning and opportunities to connect with one another.

    Additional Information:

    This full-time (40 hour/week) position reports directly to the Executive Director.

    Salary is commensurate with experience. CN offers a comprehensive vacation and holiday schedule

    Start Date – Early August
