    Description

    the museum's financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The position reports to the Business Manager and is part-time.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, billing, and payments. Record all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
      • Assist with maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
      • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budgets.
      • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
      • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
      • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably in a museum or nonprofit organization.
      • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
      • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Technology Skills

    • Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Office
    • QuickBooks Online or similar accounting system experience preferred
    • Familiarity with expense management software, such as Ramp, preferred
