Rising Hope Mission Church (United Methodist) is a safe place where you can gain spiritual and physical sustenance. We have several worship opportunities available and offer assistance through our Food Market, Rising Hope Kitchen, Hope Closet, Hypothermia Shelter, and countless other need-based services.
This is a full-time exempt position, supervised by the Director of Operations. The Emergency Services Manager provides guest-focused, administrative, programmatic, operational, functional, and mission-related tasks. Examples include case management assistance, resident transportation when appropriate, facilitating and scheduling life skills training, and crisis intervention. May need to work non-traditional work hours at times.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain a culture that exemplifies Rising Hope’s core tenets of creating a loving and inclusive environment for all persons.
- Exemplify the standards and values necessary to lead within a faith community environment.
- Provide supervision for staff, volunteers and guests in the Hope Closet and the Drop-In Center.
- Supervise operations of Drop-in Center.
- Conduct and coordinate outreach and intake assessments with the broad spectrum of Rising Hope guests to identify presenting needs.
- Work in collaboration with other Rising Hope staff to refer guests seeking additional in-house touch points of need.
- Serve as a liaison with shelters, housing organizations and other service based entities to ensure a smooth experience for guests seeking services leading to short-term and long-term sustainability.
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed, and all required progress notes and other information are entered into our electronic systems completely, accurately, and on a timely basis.
- Work with appropriate staff and operational members to track availability of funding for emergency services.
Skills and Qualifications:
- BA or 3+ years experience in related health, human services, social services or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced setting, must think critically and ethically about service delivery.
- Ability to communicate effectively, problem solve and design collaborative interventions.
- Ability to work with a diverse population and the ability to make sound judgments within the framework of existing policies and procedures.
- Experience working with adults experiencing mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or trauma preferred.
- Experience with non-profit organizations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
