    About This Opportunity

    We're seeking an energetic, creative professional to spearhead our youth prevention initiatives. You'll design and implement evidence-based programs, build community partnerships, and use innovative approaches—including social media and peer engagement—to reach youth where they are.

    What You'll Do

    Program Leadership & Implementation

    • Lead evidence-based prevention programs including Catch My Breath, ReNEWed Jr, Girls Empowered, Thrive, and Nourished
    • Serve as primary presenter for marijuana, prescription drug, and fentanyl prevention education
    • Support Youth Positive Community Norms curriculum implementation
    • Develop and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate prevention programming

    Community Engagement & Outreach

    • Build strategic partnerships with youth-serving organizations throughout Oakland County
    • Plan and execute county-wide youth and family events, including Youth Dialogue Day
    • Represent the organization at community fairs, resource nights, and networking events
    • Create innovative outreach strategies to engage hard-to-reach youth populations

    Digital Engagement & Creative Content

    • Develop compelling social media content across multiple platforms to reach diverse youth audiences
    • Design and manage youth contests, including poster competitions and annual PhotoVoice projects
    • Create prevention messaging that resonates with young people using current trends and platforms
    • Support wellness and positive norm campaigns with fresh, relevant content

    Tobacco Prevention Coordination

    • Support the Designated Youth Tobacco Use Representative (DYTUR) SYNAR compliance with:
    • Conducting retailer education and compliance monitoring
    • Maintaining Oakland County's Master Retailer List and provide coalition technical assistance
    • Preparation of accurate, timely reports for state and federal requirements

    College Campus Prevention

    • Partner with Oakland University and Lawrence Tech to implement Positive Community Norms programs
    • Attend campus events and develop targeted messaging for college-age audiences
    • Collaborate on data collection and analysis to measure program effectiveness

    What We're Looking For

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related field
    • 2+ years experience in youth programming, prevention, or community engagement
    • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
    • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital content creation
    • Experience with data collection and analysis
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with evidence-based prevention curricula
    • Background in substance abuse prevention or public health
    • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish preferred)
    • Event planning and project management experience
    • Knowledge of tobacco compliance regulations
