    Description

    NEIWPCC is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to perform various accounting duties. This is a great opportunity to apply your accounting knowledge within a non-profit setting, supporting an organization focused on environmental protection.

    In this role, you will:

    • Process check runs on a weekly basis
    • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
    • Prepare journal entries as needed for month end close
    • Maintain supporting documentation for all transactions
    • Review GL coding to ensure accuracy
    • Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret financial data
    • Assist with the closing of federal grants and fiscal year audit

    The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, accounting, or a related field with related accounting experience. Excellent computer skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational ability are needed. Knowledge of GAAP principles and non-profit or grant accounting experience is preferred.     Logistics

    This is a full-time, in-office position based in NEIWPCC’s Headquarters office, located at 650 Suffolk Street, Lowell, MA 01854. Duties will be performed largely in an office setting, but with a need for travel, for which a valid driver’s license and private means of transportation is required. After six months of employment, this position may be eligible for a partial telework schedule, subject to approval and determined by program and office needs.

    What We Offer

    The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $64,000 to $74,000. NEIWPCC offers an outstanding comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees:
