    The Baltimore Furniture Bank’s (BFB) mission is to connect low-income women, children and men with high quality used furniture. BFB works with local non-profits who provide direct services to clients exiting homelessness, individuals fleeing domestic or sexual abuse, immigrants, refugees, persons with disabilities, the elderly and persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality.

    Clients are referred to us once they secure housing, and BFB provides them with beds, tables, chairs, sofas, and other essentials. Furniture not only creates a home, but improves one’s self worth and helps establish a sense of pride. We transform a house into a home!

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient furniture order fulfillment by:

    • scheduling client visits to select furniture followed by delivery to their home, managing a crew of 3
    • managing furniture donations from the public and private institutions
    • ensuring the donated furniture is of high quality and clean
    • and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

    This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement within our facility.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supervise daily warehouse operations, including managing donation offers, client visits, furniture deliveries, and inventory management.
    • Ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely dispatch of furniture deliveries.
    • Manage and train warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular audits of furniture inventory levels and communicate to managers low stock items.
    • Procure necessary supplies and equipment to support warehouse functions.
    • Identify areas for continuous improvement in processes and workflows within the warehouse.
    • Operate forklifts as needed for material handling tasks.
    • Operate our delivery vehicles consisting of a Cargo Van and Box Truck (Driver’s License Required)
    • Experience using small power tools, such as drills and saws.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar role within a distribution center.
    • Strong knowledge of order fulfillment processes, shipping/receiving procedures, and inventory management.
    • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and best practices in warehousingoperations.
    • Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required at hiring (training may be provided).
    • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance.
    • Must be proficient in English, bi-lingual with Spanish is a plus.
    • Current Maryland Driver’s License.

    Salary and Hours
