    Our curriculum is based on Resources for Infant Educators (RIE) philosophy for our infants and young toddlers. We support our toddler through Pre-K children's learning through an emergent curriculum that reflects student interests and curiosity with influences from the Reggio Emilia philosophy.

    We understand that for adults to be full-time caregivers, they need to receive the same things that we expect them to give the children–respect, empathy, and kindness. Concurrently, we are looking to hire an administrative assistant whose mission aligns strongly with that of WCCC.

    Position Overview:

    The floating Teacher's Aide position is a part-time hourly non-exempt position. As a floating teacher’s aide, you will be responsible for assisting the lead teachers and teaching assistants in creating a caring, engaging, and safe learning environment for children ranging in age from infancy to 5 years. A teacher’s aide is required to work collaboratively with co-teachers to actively supervise all children in your care to ensure their safety and wellbeing. You will assist with classroom management, conflict resolution, maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment, assisting with classroom routines such as preparing materials and activities, and parent communication and documentation as needed. This role requires candidates to be comfortable helping babies and young children with personal care and basic needs such as: diaper changing, toileting, handwashing, dressing, feeding, etc. Our goal at WCCC is to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all of our students, families, and staff feel welcome and supported.

    Position Requirements:

    • An enthusiastic attitude with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Willingness to work collaboratively with co-teachers and supervisors
    • Receptive to instructions and guidance from lead teachers and supervising director
    • A thorough knowledge of WA Licensing regulations (WACs) for early childcare centers
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information
    • Detail oriented, organized, problem solver who can multitask in a fast paced environment
    • A team player who is flexible and willing and ready to support staff as needed
    • Patient and mature individual with ability to maintain professionalism in all situations
    • Dedicated to building and maintaining strong community values with staff and families
    • Ensure that center environment is clean, organized, and welcoming to families
    • Demonstrated flexibility in shift schedule based on needs of the center
    • Computer proficiency and literacy in Google suite, Quickbooks, and Procare with the ability to learn unfamiliar programs quickly
    • At least 1 year experience working with young children in an early childcare setting
    • Coursework in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred
    • Be at least 18 years of age
    • Reliable source of transportation
    • Negative TB test (prior to start)
    • Proof of MMR and Covid vaccinations (prior to start)
    • Cleared DCYF Portable Criminal Background check (prior to start)
    • Pediatric CPR/First Aid (within 30 days of hire)
    • BBP certification (within 30 days of hire)
    • Food Handler Permit (within 30 days of hire)
    • 30 Hour Basic Stars training (within 30 days of hire)

    Schedule:

    • Monday-Friday; Part-time and full-time positions available
    • Location: in person
    • 4-8 hour shift (+30 minute lunch break)
    • Availability to work opening/closing shifts falling between 7:15 AM - 5:45PM based on the needs of the program
    • Currently hiring for 2 part-time positions and 1 full-time position: 1 part-time opening shift 7:30AM-12:30/1:00, 1 part-time closing shift 12:00/12:30-5:30PM, 1 full-time closing shift 9:00-5:30
