Our diverse team, committed to excellence and equity, seeks a Development Associate to help drive our mission forward.

    We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing donor relations, tracking fundraising campaigns, and using Salesforce and Asana to keep everything organized and on track. This role is critical to supporting our development team’s efforts to secure funding that fuels our programs and expands our impact.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Grantmaking Operations

    • Manage grant application and reporting schedules and deadlines
    • Research grant opportunities and generate materials for grant applications and reports, including funder profiles, application templates, and relevant attachments
    • Assemble grant drafts using established narrative broken out by subject

    Data & Project Coordination

    • Utilize Salesforce to track and report on grants, individual donations, and fundraising campaigns
    • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership regarding fundraising progress, donor engagement, and other development activities
    • Utilize Asana to manage development team’s tasks related to fundraising projects, funding deadlines, and other development activities
    • Collaborate internally to align fundraising activities and procedures with organizational goals and operations
    • Fundraising Campaigns & Donor Relations
    • Provide coordination of fundraising campaigns, ensuring timely execution and tracking of progress
    • Collaborate with the development team to strategize and implement fundraising initiatives
    • Maintain donor records in Salesforce, emphasizing accuracy and confidentiality
    • Assist in the cultivation of relationships with existing and prospective donors, including collaboration on email newsletters and solicitations, generating donation acknowledgement letters, and supporting major gift activities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience

    • 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a sales related field
    • Proven experience using Salesforce for donor management and reporting
    • Proficiency in Asana or similar project management tools
    • Experience in nonprofit fundraising is highly desirable
    • You must be able to work during the hours of 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM ET

    Skills

    • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
    • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a passion for the mission

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred but not required
