    Description

    American-Scandinavian Foundation and Scandinavia House is hiring a Communications & Digital Coordinator to assist with the execution of all online communications, digital campaigns, social media, outreach efforts, and special projects, as well as maintenance of the website and other digital properties.

    The ideal candidate will have experience across a range of marketing and communications initiatives; a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of social media campaigns, branding and outreach campaigns, and traditional and digital communications channels; a very strong working knowledge of Wordpress and routine website management; experience and working knowledge of marketing automation platforms including Mailchimp and ideally Pardot; experience with Adobe CS (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere); organizational skills and project management; skills in writing, editing, proofreading, and copyediting; and a strong interest in cultural institutions and cultural representation.

    Preferred qualifications include a working background in nonprofits or other small institutions, with an ability to manage both high-level projects as well as the upkeep, management, and basic administrative duties of a small department.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Maintain and update website content for two websites (amscan.org and scandinaviahouse.org), on a regular basis.
    • Assist with transitions to new digital platforms, including a website redesign project and a new automated marketing platform.
    • Implement social media strategy across multiple platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
    • Research ways to promote Scandinavia House and ASF web content to the public and specialized audiences, including raising visibility on Facebook and other social channels, grassroots outreach to related organizations, as well as web view optimization.
    • Work closely with Director of Communications to research, write, and edit copy for e-mail newsletters, advanced schedules, and website content.
    • Maintain e-list databases and regularly prepare and submit content for consideration in program listings.
    • Research potential partner organizations to help promote ASF public programs.
    • Assist with the maintenance and expansion of nationwide press contacts; maintain and update press list.
    • Assist with administrative duties on an ongoing basis.

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate is both a detail-oriented and creative thinker with an ear for written and visual language and a solid understanding of our changing digital landscape, who is highly organized, results-driven, and capable of self-starting. Skills include:

    • 2-3 years experience in marketing/communications, editorial, social media.
    • 2-3 years experience with Wordpress and HTML, including navigating Wordpress plugins; fluency across a variety of CRM and CMS platforms.
    • A background in creating and maintaining social media campaigns, and demonstrated ability to increase and build traffic.
    • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office, and Google Analytics; photo- and video-editing skills.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong strategic, organizational, and project management skills, and an ability to manage multiple tasks across deadlines.
    • Strong writing skills and an eye for proofreading, copyediting, and language flow.
    • Project management skills and ability to keep up with multiple competing deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal communications skills and a team-player attitude.
    • Ability to find and employ creative solutions for any type of challenge.
    • Demonstrated interest in the arts and culture; background and interest in Scandinavian or European culture and history is a plus.
