    Position Overview

    Childhood Cancer International (CCI) is a global association made up of parent,

    survivor and civil organisations dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with

    cancer, along with their families. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Brand and

    Communications Manager to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a brand strategist who can build

    awareness of our mission and global association, an individual that can develop impactful

    communications and media strategies.

    Job Summary

    The Brand & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic brand

    and communication initiatives to increase visibility, drive engagement, and strengthen global

    support for CCI. This role focuses on strategy ownership, content leadership, and brand consistency

    across all CCI platforms. The person is to lead key activities in-house, while managing collaborations

    with service providers when necessary.

    Key Responsibilities

    1.Brand Strategy

    • With the Executive Director (ED), develop and implement a comprehensive brand and communications strategy to strengthen CCI’s identity and visibility.
    • Expand global awareness and recognition of CCI’s mission, values, and programmes.
    • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all regions, platforms, and campaigns.
    • Update and enforce CCI’s Brand Guidelines and Brand Key, ensuring alignment with all internal and external communications.

    2.Digital Marketing

    • Design and manage digital marketing campaigns to support awareness, engagement, and fundraising goals.
    • Maintain and optimise CCI’s owned digital platforms, including the global website and giving2children crowdfunding site.
    • Implement SEO best practices and monitor web analytics to improve content performance and audience reach.
    • Manage and maintain CCI’s databases (audiences, segments).
    • Develop and execute email campaigns aligned with the overall communication strategy, targeting specific audience segments.
    • Create and design visually appealing, mobile-responsive email templates with compelling content.
    • Develop tailored marketing strategies to increase traffic, visibility, and donor conversion through digital platforms.

    3.Content Creation

    • Develop a strategic editorial calendar aligned with CCI’s goals, campaigns (e.g. ICCD), and regional needs.
    • Work with the CCI team and Creative Agency to source material and create high-quality, engaging content for multiple platforms, including websites, newsletters, reports, and social media.
    • Collaborate with designers, developers, writers, and external suppliers to produce multimedia content (videos, graphics, animations).
    • Ensure all content adheres to brand voice, tone, and accessibility guidelines.

    4.Social Media Management

    • Lead the planning and execution of social media campaigns to increase visibility, engagement, and advocacy.
    • Monitor and manage CCI’s global social media presence, responding to inquiries and promoting community interaction, with support from the CCI team and Creative Agency.

    5.Public Relations

    • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, global partners, influencers, and content collaborators.
    • Coordinate media outreach, including the creation of press releases and talking points.
    • Manage publicity efforts for key initiatives and campaigns, including the Global Annual Conference.

    6.Market Research

    • Conduct audience and sector research to inform content development, brand positioning, and outreach strategies.
    • Track and analyse competitor and peer communications to identify opportunities and improve engagement.
    • Monitor and analyse content performance metrics (e.g. website traffic, engagement rates, conversions), and make data-driven recommendations.

    7.Budget and Resource Management

    • Manage content and communications-related budgets efficiently.
    • Coordinate work with external suppliers, freelancers, and agencies to ensure cost-effective delivery.
    • Maintain content repositories (CMS, image/video libraries), ensuring legal compliance and ease of access.

    8.Brand Custodian

    • Ensure brand consistency and compliance with the organisation’s Brand Style Guide and Brand Key across all content.
    • With the ED and Board approval, update the brand style guide and corporate identity policies and processes, and disseminate them across CCI to ensure consistency throughout the association.

    9.General Responsibilities and Cross-Team Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Executive Director, Senior International Fundraiser, and Global Administrator to ensure communications support for CCI’s strategic priorities.
    • Collaborate with programme managers, regional leads, and member organisations to develop and localise campaigns.
    • Assist with donor communications, annual reports, pitch decks, and other strategic messaging for supporters.
    • Contribute to communications around global events, conferences, campaigns, and key milestones.
    • Support the Board, ED, and other CCI managers as needed, and carry out other brand,
    • marketing, and communications-related activities as requested by the ED.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Required:

    • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a communications or branding role (ideally in a global or nonprofit organisation).
    • Excellent writing, storytelling, and editing skills in English.
    • Proven ability to lead brand and communication strategies independently.
    • Experience managing websites, digital content, and email marketing (e.g. Mailchimp, CMS platforms).

    Preferred:

    • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
    • Proficiency in Spanish or another major international language.
    • Experience working with multicultural, remote, and cross-functional teams.
    • Digital and graphic design skills.
    • Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and social media tools.

    • Due to the international nature of the organisation, flexible working hours are expected.
    • Total package of €40,000 per annum, including statutory contributions (e.g. social security as

    per country of residence).

    • Statutory annual leave (no less than 22 days per annum).
    • Annual bonus dependent on performance and availability of funds.
