    Description

    The Development & Stewardship Assistant will report to the Executive Director and play a key role in supporting donor engagement, data management, and day-to-day fundraising operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Donor Stewardship & Relationship Management:

    • Support and assist in managing donor relations, helping to implement a cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategy to drive retention, donor upgrades, revenue growth, and advancement through personalized donor engagement plans.
    • Assist in identifying, qualifying, and soliciting donor prospects.
    • Oversee the timely acknowledgement of all gifts, including form-based acknowledgements for low-level gifts and personalized thank-you letters from the Executive Director and President for major contributions.
    • Produce periodic content, reports, and other donor-facing materials that demonstrate the tangible impact of gifts.
    • Implement engagement strategies to involve and recognize donors at major events, ensuring that events offer meaningful experiences for attendees.

    Database & Reporting Systems:

    • Develop and maintain stewardship reporting systems, including databases, acknowledgement letter templates, and donor recognition files.
    • Regularly update donor information in the CRM system and ensure the accurate tracking of donor interactions, contributions, and engagement history.
    • Assist in producing detailed reports on donor engagement, gift history, and stewardship activities for internal use and to inform strategic decision-making.

    Leadership & Board Support:

    • Provide administrative support to the leadership team, including coordinating BBA and BBF Board, Executive Committee, Amicus Committee, and Nominating Committee meetings, as well as development and fundraising committee meetings.
    • Assist BBA government relations in staying apprised of policy developments, helping to manage the public policy process, conducting research and writing, and providing administrative support.
    • Prepare donor updates and reports for Board meetings to ensure leadership is informed and equipped to discuss donor relations and fundraising progress.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years of experience in donor relations, client relations, or executive support.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an ability to engage and connect with a diverse group of donors, volunteers, and leaders.
    • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
    • Highly organized with excellent time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong work ethic, initiative, and proactive approach to problem solving
    • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with donor management software or CRM systems a plus.
    • Ability to respond to inquiries with professionalism and provide excellent customer service to donors, colleagues, and leadership.
