    Description

    The Director of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management oversees undergraduate and graduate student services including advising, recruitment, and retention in the School of Social Work (SSW) at Portland State University. The Director of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management also works closely with enrollment management professionals in the University who oversee undergraduate education. They are involved in discussions about planning and developing undergraduate and graduate programs in the SSW. All personnel in these areas (e.g., SSW Undergraduate Admin Program Assistant, MSW Student Affairs Assistant) report to the Director, who works in collaboration with other departments in the SSW to recruit and retain students across four academic programs. The Director serves as a member of the SSW Leadership Team and as a member of the Administrative Leadership Team. The Director also serves as a liaison with University offices including the Graduate School office, Undergraduate Admissions, Enrollment Management, Dean of Student Life, DRC, Communications, and Contracting. When appropriate, the Director coordinates with the Office of Information Technology, Office of Academic Innovation, and other offices throughout the University. The position reports directly to the Dean of the SSW.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Masters in Social Work, Education, or a closely related field (terminal degree);
    • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion;
    • Experience with recruiting and enrolling diverse student populations using digital and face-to-face strategies;
    • Experience working collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders;
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to clearly disseminate complex academic regulations/policies in a clear and concise manner through presentation and facilitation skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to create reports, plans, and presentation materials from scratch for use with strategic and departmental planning;
    • Experience with technology and student databases— with demonstrated skills in analyzing data, creating reports, identifying trends, and developing responsive strategies;
    • Excellent ability to manage projects, multitask, and meet deadlines;
    • Awareness of and compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations such as FERPA, Title IV, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals;
    • Proven ability to resolve conflict and maintain ethical and professional business practices in all aspects of the role;
    • Experience developing and using business, marketing, or higher education analytics;
    • At least three years of professional experience working with digital financial management tools (e.g., spreadsheets, google apps); and;
    • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and
    • Highly skilled with Google documents, Gmail, and Google Drive
