    As a new non-profit organization with minimal infrastructure and ambitious growthgoals, we are seeking an Executive Director able and willing to expand our programs and deepen our community partnerships, diversify and expand our development platform, and effectively engage and grow our Board of Directors – all in service to our mission.

    Executive Director Job Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall operational responsibility for Kathy’s Place’s facilities, staff, programs, and finances. Strategically, the Executive Director will also be responsible for engaging the Board of Directors in establishing a long-range strategic plan and executing a diversified and sustainable development plan to continually build resources and support for the organization.

    This role requires strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of nonprofit management practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Organizational Management: Overseeing staff, volunteers, and operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of programs and services.
    • Fundraising and Development: Leading fundraising efforts, securing grants, and cultivating relationships with donors and partners.
    • Financial Management: Managing the organization's budget, ensuring financial stability, and overseeing financial reporting.
    • Community Engagement: Building relationships with community members, partners, and stakeholders, and representing the organization at public events and outreach initiatives.
    • Board Relations: Working collaboratively with the board of directors to provide strategic guidance and ensure effective governance.
    • Compliance and Legal: Ensuring the organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
    • Strategic Leadership: Developing and implementing the organization's strategic plan to advance its mission and goals.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and relationship building.
    • Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and accounting.
    • Strategic Planning: Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, as well as measuring outcomes.
    • Fundraising: Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, volunteers, board members, and community members.
    • Organizational Management: Experience in managing staff, volunteers, and operations.
