Canvassing in Los Angeles, CA with a progressive organization for working class people!
Higher Wages, Lower Rent Alliance is canvassing in support of of the Olympic Living Wage for Tourism Workers in Los Angeles, CA. This role will involve signature gathering, persuasion, and mobilization of voters in support of defending of the Los Angeles Olympic Living Wage for Tourism Workers.
Qualifications:
The canvasser position is an entry-level position. No experience with canvassing is necessary. Successful applicants, however, will have the following characteristics:
- Punctual and reliable
- Good communication skills
- Outgoing personality
- Enjoys meeting and talking to people
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Committed to advancing immigrants’ rights and workers’ rights
- Interested in/passionate about voting and civic participation
- We take the health and safety of our team very seriously. We strongly prefer that candidates are vaccinated or willing to get vaccinated before starting for the safety of yourself and those you will be working with.
Terms of Employment:
- The Community Canvasser position is a full-time position (part-time options available, minimum 3 shifts/week)
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- The Community Canvasser position is a temporary position from now until end of June
- Canvassers with interest and demonstrated capacity will also have the opportunity for promotion to leadership positions on our canvass team.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour for starting canvassers.
Schedule:
8-hour shift
Weekend availability
Our current canvass schedule consists of an AM shift and a PM shift and is as follows (all times are subject to change):
Saturday: 7-3:30am, 10-6:30pm
Sunday-Friday: 7-3:30pm, 12:00-8:30pm
Wed & Thurs: off, but we will also be doing make-up shifts on those days
