    Scope of Position:

    Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of the STOP IPV Program within the Bilingual Domestic Violence Program (BDVP), this position is primarily responsible for supervising the hospital-based Intimate Partner Violence Specialists and maintaining relationships with hospital partners. The STOP IPV Program works to end intimate partner violence (IPV) through community-medical partnerships, offering training and technical assistance to hospital staff, as well as services to IPV survivors identified during the hospital screening process. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality client services and supporting direct work with IPV survivors identified through the hospital screenings.

    Functions and Duties:

    • Provides supervision to IPV Specialists and interns as needed.
    • Frequently visits off-site hospital programs including but not limited to: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Einstein Hospital, Jefferson Health, and Temple University.
    • Provides quality client services and maintains client records accurately in accordance with agency standards.
    • Facilitates or co-facilitates group counseling for domestic violence victims and their families.
    • Maintains updated and accurate resources and referral system on domestic violence, drug and alcohol, legal, health and other related issues.
    • Advocates with institutions, agencies, government systems on behalf of domestic violence victims and their families.
    • Participates in program development of policy and grant and Medical Advocacy program standards.
    • Participates in hospital IPV Task Force meetings, community outreach events, and other systems advocacy opportunities.
    • Consults regularly with hospital leadership to evaluate program efforts and staff.
    • Complete monthly reports and coordinate data collection from all hospital sites.
    • Assist in developing and presenting training and workshops on domestic violence for hospital personnel and off-site providers, as needed.
    • Provides counseling to clients referred to STOP IPV program and provides coverage to the STOP IPV referral line, hotline, and walk-in as needed.
    • Provides periodic on-call support for after-hours/weekend programming
    • Participates in team/staff meetings, in-service, and other trainings
    • Meets regularly with supervisor to review program activity, services issues, and other program matters. This includes a routine review of service documentation and other program information to assure compliance with program standards and agency service goals.
    • Assists with annual evaluation of the STOP IPV programs and participates in the development of new program concepts.
    • Participates in the development of printed materials, public service announcements, and public relations on domestic violence and the healthcare.
    • Participates on the BDVP Leadership Team and external committees as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of counseling or related experience. One year of relevant, supervised experience may substitute for each year of education.
    • Supervisory Experience: Prior experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
    • Communication & Organizational Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Knowledge of Domestic Violence: An understanding of domestic violence dynamics, community resources, and sensitivity to the needs of victims and their families.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent listening and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide and receive feedback. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and respect individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Training: Completion of a state-mandated 40-hour domestic violence training and 5 hours of double staffing (can be completed upon hiring).
    • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings.
    • Candidates who are Bilingual Spanish/English are highly preferred.
