Position Summary
The Vice President (VP), Office of Executive Vice President (EVP) is a full-time senior leadership role reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP), responsible for advancing organizational strategy, strengthening executive operations, and managing high-impact, cross-functional initiatives. This role ensures alignment of strategic priorities across departments and supports a culture of data-informed decision-making, accountability, and high performance. The VP serves as a key liaison between the EVPs, CEO’s office, and senior leadership, while also representing PRI with key funders, partners, and board stakeholders. Through strong relationship and project management skills, the VP drives cohesive execution and continuous improvement. The position leads and operates with the goal that All Rural Students Succeed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead cross-organizational initiatives with executive authority, aligning business units around transformational priorities, and ensuring integration of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track success and impact
- Anticipates and mitigates risks while navigating through uncertainty and complex challenges
- Serve as a key liaison between the EVPs, the CEO’s office, and the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring smooth communication, alignment of priorities, and coordinated execution of high-impact initiatives across functions and executive leaders
- Drive a data-informed decision-making culture by overseeing the development of executive dashboards, strategic analysis, and reporting frameworks that provide insight into performance, outcomes, and organizational health
- Set clear performance expectations for projects within area of oversight, and ensure senior leaders and cross
- functional teams are holding accountability to delivering measurable results aligned with organizational priorities
- Facilitate coordination and alignment between internal operations and with core external partners to ensure cohesive execution of strategic initiatives
- Supervise and support assigned staff or project teams, providing direction, feedback, and professional development to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiencies, recommending and helping implement strategic improvements to enhance productivity and achieve organizational objectives
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely communications and well-executed activities that support organizational goals and the EVP’s vision
- Foster a culture of high performance by developing materials and initiatives that reinforce the organization’s values, enhance leadership capabilities, and support a positive work environment
- Leverage organizational and political intelligence to anticipate potential challenges, proactively identify solutions, and provide the EVP with actionable advice to address emerging issues
- Engage regularly with the EVP on strategic, operational, and cultural matters, providing timely and relevant insights to inform decision-making
- Manage select high-level external relationships, including key funders and strategic partners, representing the EVP in core partner meetings and holding delegated authority to allocate PRI time and resources in alignment with organizational priorities
- Oversee all aspects of board operations and coordination, including supervision of the Board Secretary, preparation of materials, meeting logistics, and stakeholder engagement, while supporting the CEO’s individual relationships with the Board Chair and members
- Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist and support in the attainment of our mission, All Rural Students Succeed
Position Location & Schedule
The position will be considered for remote work with local, state, and sometimes national travel required.
Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET with in-office, hybrid and/or remote work a possibility. Because of the nature of the responsibility to schools, partners, funders, and to the service region, individual offices or departments may have operating hours that extend beyond this period and may include evening and/or weekend hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Education required to ensure success in this position:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Political Science, or a related field
Experience required to ensure success in this position:
- 10+ years of experience in senior or executive leadership roles within nonprofit organizations demonstrating a strong track record of navigating organizational strategy, operations, and culture within large, complex, or fast-paced environments
- Proven ability to manage strategic projects and drive operational improvements in complex, high-stakes environments
- Demonstrated experience in cross-functional team leadership, ensuring alignment and execution of high-impact initiatives
- Experience advising senior executives on strategic, operational, and cultural matters, with the ability to navigate uncertainty, risk, and change
- Strong relationship management skills, with experience cultivating partnerships with senior leadership, internal teams, and external stakeholders

Environmental conditions:

Compensation:
- Hiring range is $168,000 - $196,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
