    Women’s Law Project (WLP) is a small, fast-paced non-profit legal services organization that works to defend and advance the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people in Pennsylvania and beyond.

    Job Description and Qualifications:

    WLP is seeking an advocacy-oriented social worker who will:

    • SUPPORT CLIENTS: Partner with WLP’s legal staff to provide client-centered, trauma-informed client support—from intake through representation—on matters involving gender discrimination and access to reproductive and sexual health care for adults and minors.
    • COORDINATE RESOURCES: Seek out appropriate professional and community resources to assist clients in various situations and help coordinate these services for clients when appropriate.
    • COLLABORATE WITH PARTNERS: Expand WLP’s scope of support for clients by developing and maintaining connections and relationships with organizations that provide services to low-income Pennsylvanians.
    • ADVOCATE: Serve as an active partner in developing and implementing a trauma-informed, client-centered storytelling advocacy program that empowers clients to participate in system
    • reform advocacy.
    • ENGAGE WITH THE COMMUNITY: Engage in community education related to WLP’s services and advocacy, including the development of client-focused materials for presentations, social media, and other platforms.
    • Handle other duties as assigned.

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • A BSW, MSW, or a degree in a related human services field. Licensure or the ability to become licensed as a social worker preferred.
    • Three to five years of professional experience with a demonstrated record of accomplishments.
    • Commitment to social justice values, including racial justice and gender justice, and support for young people’s reproductive and bodily autonomy.
    • Experience in reproductive rights, health, and justice; racial justice; workers’ rights; disability rights; or LGBTQ equality movements.
    • Experience working with clients navigating trauma, and knowledge of trauma-informed best practices.
    • Excellent organizational skills, including a high attention to detail.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Spanish language proficiency not required, but a plus.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, give and receive feedback, work independently, and handle challenging situations using critical thinking skills.
    • Proven ability to interact with individuals who are from diverse backgrounds.

    Salary & Classification:

    This position is intended as full-time; however part-time schedules will be considered. The salary range for the full-time position is $55,000 to $63,000, commensurate with experience.

    Location of Work:

    WLP is a hybrid office. The in-office component of the work (2-3 days per week) will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    WLP permits remote work on a case-by-case basis when it is reasonable and does not present an undue hardship on the organization. WLP prefers employees to perform their remote work in Pennsylvania to ensure compliance with state and local withholding requirements and wage and hour laws.
