    Description

    The Children’s Movement of Florida is seeking a motivated associate with maternal and child health experience to join our team–based in Miami. This position is responsible for community outreach, stakeholder engagement, research, and communications efforts related to the prenatal to three years. The ideal candidate is passionate about achieving impact, highly organized, and skilled in both project management and community relations.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Assist in identifying specific policy priorities for the prenatal to three years
    • Coordinate regional focus group discussions and outreach to leading stakeholders in identified priority areas
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute community outreach and advocacy events in collaboration with partners and stakeholders
    • Oversee communications and messaging campaigns related to priority issues
    • Represent The Movement at community meetings and public forums and provide written summaries and strategic recommendations
    • Serve as Movement representative on state- and national-level coalitions
    • Conduct policy analysis during legislative session
    • Maintain stakeholder records in database; ensure accuracy of contact information and outreach tracking
    • Manage select internal and external meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, facilitation, and follow-up
    • Collaborate with communications teams to develop social media content and visual materials such as infographics, slideshows, and videos.
    • Serve as team lead for Florida’s Early Childhood Data Hub, ensuring timely updates and improvements
    • Support the creation of policy briefs, reports, and grant-related documentation
    • Support virtual and in-person events across Movement initiatives, as needed

    Qualifications and attributes:

    The ideal candidate is passionate about promoting the best outcomes for children and families in Florida. The candidate is expected to be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities. Must have a comfort with public speaking and an appreciation for the contributions of families, practitioners, academics, and others.

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Public Policy, or related field
    • Demonstrated interest and experience in maternal and child health or early childhood policy and advocacy, preferably in the state of Florida
    • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to meetings, events, and presentations throughout the state.
    • Bilingual proficiency is highly desirable
    • Experience with Canva or similar design tools is a plus
