    Job Title: Contract Grant Writer

    Location: Remote / Contract-Based

    Reports To: Executive Director

    Employment Type: Contract (Part-Time Hourly)

    About the Role:

    Raphael Village is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Grant Writer to join our team and support our mission by securing critical funding through compelling, compliant, and strategic grant proposals. Raphael Village supports adults with disabilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, and other intellectual or developmental disabilities, empowering them to be actively engaged in life and their community. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, creative thinker, and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in successful grant writing.

    As a contract grant writer, you will collaborate with the Executive Director to craft persuasive grant applications that align with the organization’s goals and funding priorities. They will also conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission, programs, and strategic goals.
    • Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documents tailored to funder guidelines and priorities.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information, including program goals, budgets, outcomes, and data.
    • Maintain an organized tracking system for applications, deadlines, reports, and outcomes using basic grant management tools or software.
    • Ensure all grant submissions are complete, accurate, and compliant with each funder’s specific requirements.
    • Stay informed of trends in grant funding and best practices in proposal development and funder engagement.
    • Provide post-award support as needed, including drafting progress reports and assisting with compliance documentation.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Organization: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records across numerous projects.
    • Practical Thinking: Strong decision-making skills; able to evaluate which grants best align with organizational capabilities and mission.
    • Creativity: Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities; capable of presenting ideas in innovative and persuasive ways.
    • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and basic grant management tools. Willingness to learn new platforms.
    • Attention to Detail: High standards for accuracy and compliance with grantor guidelines and formatting requirements.
    • Industry Knowledge: Awareness of current funding trends, best practices, and tools in the nonprofit and grants landscape.
    • Persistence: Tenacious and committed to securing funding, even in the face of rejection; driven to help the organization thrive.

    Preferred Experience:

    • 2+ years of proven grant writing experience with a strong portfolio of successful proposals
    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
    • Experience working with nonprofit organizations or mission-driven entities
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and private funding sources

    Contract Details:

    • Flexible, remote position
    • Compensation is commensurate with experience and project scope
    • This is a 1099 independent contractor role
