    Description

    This is a new, high-impact leadership role focused on growing and connecting a vibrant network of over 2,000 alumni from Boston’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts. You'll design and lead programs that support alumni success, build community, and foster a culture of mentorship and giving back.

    Your Impact:

      • Launch and lead a robust alumni engagement program.
      • Design and execute events, mentorships, and scholarship programs.
      • Raise $350–$500K annually in support of college scholarships.
      • Build long-term systems and partnerships to sustain alumni success.

    Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.
      • 7–10 years in alumni relations, student support, or advancement
      • Proven experience building alumni programs or community networks.
      • A strong communicator and relationship builder
      • BAA alumni strongly encouraged to apply.

    The Opportunity

    The Director will create and lead a dynamic alumni program that cultivates pride, fosters networking and mentorship, and builds a culture of giving back—securing the future of scholarships and alumni support.     Program Development & Leadership

      • Design and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement program with clear annual goals and a three-year roadmap.
      • Lead in-person and virtual events (reunions, panels, workshops) to foster meaningful alumni connections.
      • Build a culture of mentorship and giving back among alumni—through time, expertise, and philanthropic support.
      • Collaborate with a newly hired Alumni Coordinator to develop the systems and infrastructure to support long-term program growth.

    Alumni Engagement & Support

      • Increase access to college scholarships and improve student persistence and graduation outcomes.
      • Ensure transparent administration of scholarship funds and maintain strong donor-recipient relationships.
      • Serve as a connector—linking alumni to internships, professional opportunities, and peer support.

    Fundraising & Philanthropy

      • Cultivate a strong culture of philanthropy among alumni, launching innovative campaigns to fund scholarships and alumni initiatives.
      • Secure $350,000–$500,000 annually for scholarship distribution, with a goal of building an endowed fund for long-term sustainability.

    Communications & Data Management

      • Develop compelling alumni communications and campaigns that inform, inspire, and activate the BAA community.
      • Maintain a robust alumni database to track engagement, career outcomes, and program impact.
      • Report on progress using clear metrics tied to engagement, fundraising, and alumni success.

    Work Schedule

    This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM working out of the Foundation’s offices located in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. The Boston Arts Academy Foundation has a hybrid work schedule, staff work in the office 4 days a week, one remote. This position occasionally requires hours during weeknight and weekend events and meetings.
