    Description

    The Association of Community Employment Programs (ACE) empowers individuals with histories of homelessness, incarceration, and addiction to secure full-time employment and achieve long-term economic independence. We serve individuals throughout NYC, providing job training, work experience, a host of wrap-around services, and a lifetime support network.

    ACE is seeking an Admissions Coordinator / Case Manager. This person will coordinate ACE’s admissions department, conduct outreach in the community, and will build and maintain relationships with referral programs and community partners. They will also provide direct case management services and facilitate wellness classes. This position will report to the Director of Programs.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Admissions & Outreach

    • Maintain and expand relationships with partner programs (e.g. inpatient substance use treatment facilities, shelters, behavioral health providers, legal services organizations, food pantries, and other service providers in the community)
    • Conduct presentations about ACE at partner sites
    • Table at community events to increase ACE’s visibility and advertise our services
    • Develop a strategy to increase recruitment among Western Queens residents; research potential partners and relevant community hubs, schedule site visits
    • Receive referrals for program applicants, screen for eligibility, schedule intakes, communicate with referral partners regarding referrals
    • Run weekly program orientations, conduct intake interviews, assess eligibility of each candidate in conjunction with program director
    • Oversee quality control of intake process; work with intake team to streamline processes as needed
    • Meet monthly program enrollment quotas
    • Manage relationship with Human Resources Administration

    Case Management & Workshop Facilitation

    • Manage a case load of participants by assisting them in reaching prevocational goals, making referrals as needed, communicating with referring case managers, tracking vocational and educational progress, coaching participants on job search and interview skills, and providing individual counseling
    • Address participant issues utilizing trauma-informed practices and creative problem-solving to support participants in achieving success
    • Facilitate classes on wellness topics, including adjusting behaviors and adapting to change, coping mechanisms, managing workplace and life stressors, etc.

    Perform other duties as needed or requested by director of programs.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • LMSW preferred, but not required. We will be happy to consider applicants without an advanced degree who can demonstrate relevant experience.
    • At least 2 years of social service experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable working with a diverse population
    • Strong presentation abilities
    • Enthusiasm for building and maintaining partner relationships and conducting outreach in the community
    • An ability to excel in fast-paced, high-volume environments
    • Organized and attentive to details
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Internet research
    • A commitment to helping New Yorkers re-entering the workforce to reach their goals and achieve long-term economic independence
