    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We’re looking for a skilled Fundraising and Development Manager to lead NAMI Seattle's communications, fundraising, and development efforts. The role collaborates with all staff while implementing strategies that result in securing grants and donations to sustain our work. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Fundraising and Development Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of all NAMI Seattle fundraising events, grant proposal development, and external communications. This role will develop, implement, manage, and tracks progress of impactful communication and fundraising strategies. This role is also a key partner with all staff in creating a learning organizational culture that collects data, collaboratively reflects and makes meaning from it, and uses it for continuous improvement to advance the organization’s mission.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the organization's mission and goal.
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and funding partners.
    • Write grant proposals and manage the grant application process.
    • Manage donor databases and ensure accurate and up-to-date donor records.
    • Conduct market research to identify new funding opportunities.
    • Plan and execute fundraising events, including logistics, marketing, and donor stewardship.
    • Track donations, generate reports, and analyze fundraising data.
    • Collaborate with the team to develop public relations materials and promote fundraising initiatives and program services.
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial projections.
    • Oversee data collection and analysis to measure the effectiveness of fundraising effort.

    Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desired

    • Knowledge of and appreciation for the special concerns and challenges of people with mental illness, their families, and caregivers.
    • A skilled practitioner of the antidotes to white supremacy culture and/or decolonization.
    • Ability to see challenges as opportunities, to exercise compassion with self and others, to recognize and celebrate contributions from others.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a nonprofit setting.
    • Minimum of three years in a management role.
    • Minimum of three years of success in previous roles developing and managing fundraising, development and communication strategies.
    • Proficiency researching and identifying potential new funders aligned with organizational impact and cultivating relationships.
    • Use of data to analyze, reflect with others, and inform decision making to adjust strategies.
    • Facility managing social media content and messaging that resonates with diverse audiences.
    • Oral and written fluency in the English language.

    Required Experience and Skills:

    • Action-oriented with a strong work ethic, initiative, energy, and problem-solving.
    • Compassion and empathy of neuro-diverse individuals, disabilities, and mental/emotional health challenges.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other applications including SharePoint, Teams, OneNote, etc.

    Preferred Experience and Skills:

    • Post baccalaureate degree or certificate in a related field of study.
    • 4 years or more of successful experience in fundraising, development, and communications for nonprofit organizations.
    • Knowledge of effective leadership practices and experience applying them in work settings.
    • Bilingual in any language.
    • Leading and inspiring others.
