    Description

    The Community Service Society (CSS) seeks a dynamic, mission-driven, experienced professional to provide administrative support for the Health Initiatives Department. The Community Service Society (CSS) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that has been at the forefront of public policy innovations that support low-income New Yorkers for more than 175 years. CSS runs several statewide programs that help consumers find and enroll in health coverage under the Affordable Care Act. These services are free for New York health care consumers and small businesses. CSS also has foundation funding to provide outreach grants to community-based enrollers throughout New York State in the Keep New York Covered (KNYC) project.

    CSS seeks to hire a Senior Program Administrative Specialist to provide temporary administrative support for the day-to-day functioning of the Keep New York Covered program.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to KNYC CBOs on how to use Salesforce database and CHA web portal.
    • Conduct quality assurance reviews for KNYC CBOs.
    • Provide technical assistance to CBOs on social media and other outreach activities.
    • Assist with the coordination and facilitation of monthly meetings.
    • Collect and organize questionnaires and other data.
    • Process invoices.
    • Assist with funder reports.
    • Provide administrative support for the Director of Health Insurance Enrollment Programs, as needed.
    • Maintain and update advocate resources.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s in public health or public administration preferred.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communications skills required.
    • Intermediate to advanced competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
    • Experience with SalesForce or other database management system strongly preferred.
    • Experience with event planning preferred.
    • Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time well to meet deadlines.
    • Experience working in nonprofit, mission-driven, or public policy agencies is strongly preferred.

    Compensation and benefits: The hourly rate for this position is $37.48. This position is not eligible for benefits provided by CSS.

    CSS currently offers a hybrid work environment requiring onsite work at CSS’ office at least two days per week and three days per week remote work. CSS will provide laptop and other equipment necessary to perform the job from home, but the worker must use their own internet connection.
