    Description

    Patriotic Millionaires is seeking a dynamic and motivated Deputy Director to join our Great Economy Project team. This newly created role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in campaign work (preferably in North Carolina) who is passionate about community engagement and policy-oriented initiatives. The Deputy Director will travel throughout North Carolina as well as support initiatives in Wisconsin.     Key Responsibilities

    Travel and Outreach:

    • Travel extensively throughout North Carolina, with a primary focus on engaging targeted communities, identifying local leaders and strengthening existing relationships, and increasing organizational presence in underserved areas.
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with grassroots organizations, advocacy groups, and key stakeholders to ensure effective community engagement.
    • Represent the organization at local town halls, county meetings, and regional forums, fostering direct communication and trust with local communities.
    • Travel to Washington, D.C. 3-4 times per year to advocate for policy initiatives and engage with national affiliates.
    • Visit Wisconsin 2-3 times a year to collaborate with leadership, participate in training programs, and refine outreach strategies tailored to targeted communities.

    Administrative Duties:

    • Build and maintain a comprehensive database of activists, donors, and local community contacts, with an emphasis on targeted leaders and organizers.
    • Coordinate outreach activities in small towns and less densely populated regions, ensuring tailored approaches that resonate with targeted audiences.
    • Manage logistics for events and community gatherings, prioritizing accessibility and inclusion for our audiences.
    • Track engagement metrics, ensuring data-driven strategies that address specific challenges faced by communities outside urban centers.

    Relationship Building in Targeted Areas:

    • Establish and nurture strong connections with advocacy groups, small business owners, and local policymakers.
    • Work closely with grassroots organizations to develop and implement outreach models, including those uniquely suited to targeted communities, in-person engagement, local media partnerships, and social media outreach.
    • Identify and empower local leaders, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to mobilize communities on key issues.
    • Facilitate peer-to-peer networking and coalition-building, ensuring that a large perspective of voices are integrated into broader organizational strategies.

    Communication and Coordination:

    • Serve as a compelling advocate for our issues, effectively communicating their needs and priorities within the organization.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to develop messaging strategies that resonate with targeted audiences, recognizing their unique concerns and interests.
    • Ensure accessibility in all communication channels, including print materials, community radio, and digital outreach efforts tailored for our audiences.
    • Provide regular reports highlighting engagement successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

    Service and Policy Orientation:

    • Approach all interactions with a service-first mentality, ensuring that targeted communities feel heard, valued, and supported.
    • Stay informed on local, state, and national policies affecting targeted populations, advocating for policy solutions that address economic, infrastructure, and social challenges.
    • Work alongside affiliate organizations to advance policy advocacy, supporting field efforts, mobilization campaigns, and legislative engagement.
    • Lead educational workshops and community training on policy issues, equipping residents with the knowledge to advocate effectively for their communities.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in campaign work, community organizing, or political advocacy, preferably with some rural outreach experience.
    • Travel Commitment: Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel extensively, including overnight and out-of-state trips. NOTE: Applicant can also be located in Fayetteville, Wilmington, or another town in Southeastern North Carolina.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a decentralized environment.
    • Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with Google Suite.
    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to engage a variety of populations, build trust, and tailor messaging to meet community-specific needs.
    • Teamwork & Leadership: Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration between cohort leaders and organizational teams.
