    Direct report to: Deputy Director, One Heart Worldwide

    Technical report to: Projects Director, DAK International Network

    Location: Remote with occasional travel

    Time Commitment: 2 days per week

    Position Overview

    The Maternal Health Coordinator will lead and manage a multi-country coalition focused on advancing Basic Obstetric Ultrasound programs through global partnerships. The Coordinator will ensure effective communication, program implementation, policy advocacy, and scaling efforts while building a strong Community of Practice. This role will closely collaborate with DAK International Network, One Heart Worldwide, implementing partners, healthcare providers, and relevant national health ministries to improve access to quality obstetric ultrasound services in rural and remote settings.

    Key Responsibilities

    Global Partnership Coordination

    • Serve as the primary liaison for the Community of Practice (CoP) on task-sharing obstetric ultrasound.
    • Facilitate coordination among coalition partners and relevant stakeholders.
    • Organize and lead international meetings, working groups, and strategic sessions.
    • Ensure continuous communication among One Heart Worldwide, DAK, and other partners.

    Program Implementation & Technical Support

    • Provide technical support for training, mentorship, and operational research.
    • Assist in developing tools and frameworks for quality improvement and monitoring.
    • Promote cross-country learning and knowledge exchange.

    Advocacy & Policy Engagement

    • Support advocacy for evidence-based policies and integration of portable ultrasound in health systems.
    • Develop policy briefs, reports, and recommendations.
    • Represent the coalition in global forums and policy dialogues as needed.

    Secretariat Support for Community of Practice (CoP)

    • Coordinate timely communication across partners and stakeholders.
    • Ensure inclusive agenda setting and participation in CoP activities.
    • Set up and manage quarterly meetings across time zones.
    • Organize stakeholder meetings and global learning exchanges.
    • Prepare newsletters, reports, and presentations to communicate progress.
    • Maintain organized documentation (minutes, reports, correspondence).

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, Nursing, Health Policy, or related field; clinical qualification preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum 5 years in maternal/newborn health, global health coordination, or international health policy.
    • Strong expertise in coalition building, stakeholder engagement, and health system strengthening.
    • Deep understanding of maternal and newborn care in low-resource settings.
    • Excellent project management and multitasking skills.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with MS Office and online collaboration tools.
    • Fluent in English; French proficiency is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
