Our work has included advocacy around equity, poverty, and social justice; mentoring; support services for older adults; youth development and education; hunger relief; housing stability; and recovery support. Today, we provide services in the areas of food, youth, and wellbeing.

    Type: exempt, full-time, average minimum of 40 hours per week

    Hours: Generally in office for 7-8 hours/day during business hours but can vary depending on programming

    Reports to: GMCC President and Executive Director

    Direct Reports: Five Full-Time and Three Part-Time Resource Navigators and Certified Peer Recovery Specialists

    Role Overview:

    Program Design, Supervision, and Direct Service

    • Lead the design, development, planning, delivery, and evaluation of GMCC’s wellbeing programs, including drop-in services, housing stability, and recovery support, ensuring alignment with GMCC’s mission and strategic plan
    • Oversee the design, quality, and effectiveness of adult-focused programs to meet the needs of our community members
    • Develop innovative programming and services to respond to existing and emerging trends and challenges in the communities we serve
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with organization and regulatory requirements and policies
    • Ensure fulfillment of and compliance with grants and contracts supporting the work
    • Participate in direct service when needed

    Leadership and Team Management

    • Serve on GMCC’s leadership team alongside GMCC’s President and Executive Director, Director of Operations, and Director of Youth Programs
    • Hire, train, support, supervise and mentor program managers, resource navigators, peer recovery specialists, and other staff
    • Provide supervision and support including goal setting, performance management, conflict resolution, ongoing recognition, constructive feedback, and tailored training
    • Build and maintain a positive and effective work environment and culture
    • Ensure adequate staffing and resources are available for high-quality service delivery and to meet contractual obligations

    Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy

    • Identify collaboration opportunities and synergies
    • Work with partners to find synergies for and create events and programs
    • Build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships/partnerships with funders, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders
    • Represent GMCC at external events and participate in area workgroups to increase GMCC’s profile and build effective partnerships
    • Monitor industry trends and activities

    Financial and Operational Oversight

    • Work closely with the President/Executive Director and the Director of Finance to develop and manage program budgets
    • Identify new sources of revenue, efficiencies and other budgetary improvements to support program growth and financial sustainability
    • Regularly report on program performance metrics and outcomes, including quantitative and qualitative information, and draft reports to funders

    Continuous Improvement and Innovation

    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and inform decision-making.
    • Use KPI data and feedback from individuals served, families, and staff to drive continuous improvement
    • Stay current on trends, technology, and research to inform program innovation.
    • Explore and leverage technology to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

    Passion for the Mission: A deep commitment to improving the quality of life and understanding the challenges for people experiencing homelessness, living in poverty, and/or struggling with substance use disorder

    Technology skills: Proficient with GSuite software (Outlook, Word, etc.); CRM systems, HMIS, CES, and ability to quickly learn new technologies

    Intercultural Competency: Ability to build trust and connect with individuals and groups that are from diverse backgrounds, communities, cultures and religions

    Required Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience in nonprofit program management
    • Experience supervising and training full-time staff
    • Knowledge of treatment and recovery services, housing systems, HMIS and CES, case management, and working with people experiencing homelessness and struggling with substance use
    • Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams in achieving organizational goals; strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging stakeholders and building partnerships
    • Ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically, both orally and in written form, with people from various backgrounds
