    Position Title: Manager, Development Operations

    Status: Full Time

    Job Summary & Key Priorities

    The Manager, Development Operations will play a key role in supporting the efforts of the entire Development Team at Active Minds through knowledgeable and strategic oversight of our development operations systems, including donor/contribution record management, financial reporting, list preparation/segmentation, campaign performance reporting, and more. Reporting to the Director, Individual Giving, this person will lead in improving existing processes, identify areas for increased efficiency and problem solving for the needs of the development operations at Active Minds, and set expectations on development operation best practices for team members. The Manager, Development Operations will supervise the Development Associate, Stewardship & Operations.

    Key Results

    Development Operations Leadership (60%)

    • Manage a Development Associate, Stewardship & Operations including setting clear expectations, resourcing adequately, ensuring accountability, mentoring, and guiding their career development.
    • Oversee and support timely and accurate gift entry, acknowledgement processing, and pipeline development processes led by the Development Associate, Stewardship & Operations.
    • Ensure team alignment to data hygiene best practices through ongoing review of contact information, household conventions, batch opportunity corrections, and more.
    • Coordinate with cross-department teammates in Technology, Operations, and Measurement.
    • Develop and implement source-based tracking systems for gifts (i.e. campaign tracking).
    • Perform large-scale data (batch) changes, including large imports, exports, and updates.
    • Update and/or create written policies for gift and record creation in CRM for consistency.

    Development Operations Team Support (30%)

    • By request, build donor lists for annual solicitations, event invitations, and general development communications, including detailed segmentation groups based on previous giving and/or engagement.
    • Monitor and report on performance of mail and email campaigns to help inform future fundraising strategies.
    • Create a regular reporting structure that allows development team members to track progress to goal (with previous year comparisons).

    Other Responsibilities (10%)

    • Be responsible for management of the invoicing structure to track awarded funds.
    • Regularly meet with the Finance team to reconcile revenue in the accounting system.
    • Serve as primary contact for third-party donation platforms.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    About You

    • Strong attention to detail and organization, especially when it comes to data management and reporting.
    • Able to prioritize tasks, organize time effectively, and respond to changing deadlines; must have ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time.
    • Passionate about supporting the fundraising initiatives that enable Active Minds to improving champion a new era for mental health.
    • Belief that equity and social justice are important and driven to hear, reflect, and act on this belief.

    You’ll need to have:

    • 4+ years related experience supporting or managing development operations in a nonprofit setting, or a high level of transferable experience.
    • Strong knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM for nonprofit fundraising.
    • Strong knowledge of current industry standards and best practices in development operations.
    • Fully digital literate, including Microsoft & Google products, and online meeting tools.

    Compensation

    This position offers an initial salary of $65,000 along with robust benefits. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount. The role sits within Active Minds Level 3 salary band and has the potential to grow to $92,000 over time. FLSA Status: Exempt.
