    About the Role

    The organization is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Development Manager to lead its fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This full-time position is central to ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the organization by developing and executing effective fundraising strategies, managing donor relations, and supporting key development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator and skilled project manager with a deep understanding of nonprofit fundraising operations.

    The Development Manager will work closely with leadership and cross-departmental teams to oversee campaigns, events, and donor communications. They will be responsible for expanding the donor base, strengthening existing partnerships, and advancing the organization’s mission through grants, individual giving, and corporate sponsorships. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented fundraising professional who thrives in a fast-paced nonprofit environment and is passionate about advancing civic and social impact.

    This is a full-time position located in Washington D.C, with occasional evening and weekend hours for events and donor engagements. The Development Manager will report directly to the President of NCPPR.

    Job Duties:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational mission and goals.
    • Process and manage donor contributions.
    • Plan, coordinate, and manage fundraising activities, campaigns, and high-profile events.
    • Cultivate relationships with diverse donor groups including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
    • Conduct research to identify potential donors and funding opportunities.
    • Write and manage detailed grant proposals and Letters of Intent (LOIs).
    • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to prospective donors.
    • Develop and oversee annual fundraising budget.
    • Utilize CRM systems, such as Salesforce, for donor information management and data analysis.
    • Analyze fundraising metrics and generate performance reports.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical fundraising standards.
    • Coordinate with HR and Accounting for proper allocation of fundraising income and timely issuance of tax receipts.
    • Regularly update organizational calendars to reflect donor requirements and program milestones.
    • Manage online donation systems and provide donor support.
    • Execute email marketing campaigns and regular communications with donors and stakeholders.
    • Maintain detailed documentation and archives of communications, proposals, and donor interactions.
    • Manage inventory and procurement of fundraising-related office supplies.
    • Coordinate logistics for delivery and transportation of event materials and donations.
    • Provide regular reports to external mailing companies to update campaign effectiveness.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
    • 2-3 years of relevant experience required in fundraising, development, or related fields within the nonprofit or public sectors.

    Alternative Qualifications Accepted:

    • Master's degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field plus 24 months of training or experience in fundraising, development, or related fields in the nonprofit or public sectors.

    Special Skills Requirements:

    • Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and archival skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with fundraising data analytics.
    • Ability to plan and execute high-profile events.
    • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising standards and practices.
    • Availability to occasionally work evenings/weekends for events or donor engagements.
