    Position Summary

    Seeds of Peace is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Development to lead and implement the organization’s fundraising strategy. This senior leader will be responsible for stewarding efforts to raise $4–5 million annually through a diversified portfolio that includes individual giving, institutional support, and mission-aligned events.

    Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Board of Directors and other senior leaders, the Director will manage and grow a small but high-performing development team, serve as a front-line fundraiser, and ensure alignment between fundraising goals and organizational priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fundraising Leadership & Strategy

    • Design and lead a comprehensive development strategy that ensures long-term, sustainable revenue growth.
    • Oversee cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
    • Serve as a trusted fundraising partner to the Executive Director, engaging them in high-impact donor relationships and opportunities.
    • Work closely with the Board of Directors to leverage their networks and deepen their engagement in fundraising efforts.

    Team & Infrastructure Oversight

    • Manage and mentor a talented development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
    • Provide strategic guidance across the development pipeline, from prospect research and donor engagement to reporting and data analysis.
    • Collaborate with the finance team on revenue forecasting and financial planning.
    • Oversee the use and optimization of development systems, including CRM.

    Events & Campaigns

    • Oversee signature fundraising events, ensuring strategic donor involvement and maximum visibility.
    • Serve in lead role for the annual Benefit dinner which raises over $1mm
    • Guide annual fundraising campaigns and initiatives, such as year-end appeals and digital giving drives.
    • Maximize digital fundraising efforts for the organization.

    Donor Engagement & Communications

    • Develop and execute tailored engagement plans for key donors and prospects, including donor meetings, briefings, and events.
    • Lead the development of high-quality proposals, reports, and fundraising communications that reflect Seeds of Peace’s mission and impact.
    • Ensure consistent and meaningful donor recognition and stewardship across all giving levels.

    Qualifications

    • At least 10 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a strong track record in major gifts, foundation giving, and board engagement.
    • Demonstrated success in designing and executing strategies to raise $4–5M+ annually.
    • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence.
    • Experience working closely with senior leadership and boards.
    • Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, set clear goals, and drive results.
    • Deep alignment with the mission and values of Seeds of Peace.
    • Willingness to travel periodically for donor meetings and events.
    • Based on the East Coast or able to work on East Coast hours
