    Description

    1) Someone who will help guide the day-to-day operations of Stop Predatory Gambling serving many different roles including:

    • Acting like an air traffic controller for all the things happening and coming into the organization;
    • A gatekeeper who can help the Executive Director focus on the items that are going to most advance our agenda and elevate the organization;
    • Help act as an integrator to ensure all the things we’re involved with are connected to one another. This person would keep the needs of the whole organization in mind, not just a specific area of our work.
    • The Operations Director is primarily the internal-facing manager for Stop Predatory Gambling while also contributing to the public-facing policy goals of the organization. This position works closely with the Executive Director and other team members to help support the overall goals and success of the organization.

    2) Qualities and character traits needed in this role for us:

    • Understands Stop Predatory Gambling’s mission, what we’re trying to achieve, and possesses a strong passion and commitment to it;
    • Can do project management on several things at once;
    • Can manage relationships with considerable personable warmth;
    • Communicates well including strong oral and writing skills;
    • This team member must be very reliable with EXCELLENT follow through;
    • Must have a strong work ethic.
    • Needs to be able to work with people of all political stripes, from all religious faiths, from all corners of the United States;
    • An ability to learn basic technology, Microsoft software applications, and constituent relationship management (CRM) software.
    • Someone who can make things fun (while the Executive Director may be a nice person to work with and is passionate, intense, and fully invested in achieving Stop Predatory Gambling's mission, few would consider one of his strengths as making things fun).
