    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    The Manager of Development Operations is a full-time, management-level position that oversees the day-to-day operations of the Development Department. This role is responsible for managing the donor CRM system, supporting fundraising initiatives, planning special events, and coordinating closely with senior leadership. The position reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage and maintain the CRM donor database (Bloomerang), ensuring accuracy, security, and adherence to best practices for gift acceptance, processing, receipting, reporting, and acknowledgment.
    • Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure accurate gift/donation coding, deposits, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
    • Work with the CEO, CSO, and Director of Development to develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies that support the organization's fundraising goals.
    • Support donor communications, including thank-you letters, invitations, pledge reminders, and marketing campaigns.
    • Coordinate with Development colleagues on donor stewardship, appeals, and fundraising activities.
    • Oversee integration and data tracking across giving platforms (e.g., OneCause, PayPal Giving, Benevity, etc.) and assist in maintaining event fundraising pages and sponsorship systems.
    • Develop and execute strategies for annual campaigns and other fundraising efforts to cultivate and engage current and prospective donors.
    • Align Development operations with the Volunteer Program to support organizational synergy.
    • Plan and execute fundraising events, including the Annual Gala, working closely with the CEO, Board, and volunteers.
    • Create and manage content for direct mail and electronic fundraising campaigns.
    • Provide appropriate briefing materials, including donor research, to the CEO and/or Director of Development in preparation for donor and prospect meetings.
    • Stay informed on industry best practices and tools to enhance fundraising efficiency and donor engagement.

    SUPERVISORY ROLE:

    • Supervise a Development Specialist responsible for gift processing, sponsorship tracking, donor stewardship, and recognition efforts.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proven experience with Bloomerang or similar fundraising CRM systems, including data entry, reporting, and campaign tracking.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a donor- and volunteer-focused mindset.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Zoom and event management software preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; manage up and support leadership priorities.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments and with diverse stakeholders.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Data Science, Business, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
    • At least 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising operations, donor stewardship, and database management.
    • Experience in event planning and community-based donor engagement, preferably in the Miami/South Florida region.
