    Reports to: Associate Director and Rainier Beach: A Beautiful Safe Place for Youth Project Manager

    Type: Full-time (40 hours), exempt, contract ends 12/31/2025. Funding for this position in 2026 is contingent upon contract award(s) and/or other fundraising accomplishments.

    Job Purpose: Serve as a liaison for community, businesses, organizations, and the City of Seattle; working collaboratively to improve coordination, communication, and partnerships among groups working on public safety challenges in Rainier Beach, with an emphasis on engaging non/limited English-speaking residents and other historically underrepresented groups in Rainier Beach.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Rainier Beach public safety (80%) – Includes neighborhood coordination, communication, advocacy, education and training, information gathering and problem solving regarding Rainier Beach public safety concerns.
      • Key Responsibilities:
        • Support activations and interventions as part of the Rainier Beach: A Beautiful Safe Place for Youth (RB:ABSPY) initiative.
        • Regularly attend RB:ABSPY core team meetings and community meetings to provide information about activities happening in Rainier Beach and share opportunities for public engagement.
        • Research and write Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) reports as needed.
        • Provide safety support for small businesses
        • Provide safe rental property workshops as needed
    • Administrative tasks (20%) – Create complete and on-time reports about efforts and projects in Rainier Beach, maintain excellent documentation and meeting notes, support your colleagues’ projects as appropriate, participate in any trainings provided by the agency, participate in staff celebrations, retreats, and team meetings, submit timesheets and expense reports accurately and on time, send weekly status report to team members via email, other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director or RB:ABSPY Project Manager.

    Basic Requirements

    • Must be familiar with the Rainier Beach neighborhood.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate and work empathetically with a wide variety of people from different social and cultural backgrounds.
    • Ability to collaborate and facilitate conversations with people of diverse perspectives.
    • Self-starter who can work independently as well as collaborate with a team.
    • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
    • Work may be required in the evening or on weekends.
    • Undergraduate degree desired but not required.
    • Candidates must undergo a criminal background check; However criminal history will not necessarily preclude employment.
