    Description

    Women’s Law Project (WLP) is a small, fast-paced non-profit legal advocacy organization that works to defend and advance the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people in Pennsylvania and beyond.

    WLP is seeking a Development Associate whose function is to aid in the organization’s fundraising and operations goals, including grant applications and management, individual giving campaigns, and special events. The Development Associate reports to the Director of Development.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong writing skills, an ability to work independently and collaboratively, a passion for the work of WLP, and a flair for event planning.

    Job duties will include:

    • Assisting the Director of Development in the development and implementation of fundraising strategies
    • Drafting and preparing grant applications and reports; providing support in filing grant application documents and managing grant deadlines
    • Coordinating WLP’s annual fundraising gala in Philadelphia and providing support for the annual Pittsburgh gala, including securing sponsorships, advertising, supporting the host committee, researching and engaging with vendors, and all event logistics
    • Drafting letters and emails to donors and potential funders
    • Implementing donor stewardship plan to ensure that all gifts are acknowledged promptly and appropriately, through letters and telephone calls. This work includes promptly and accurately recording donations and donor information into a database, and running reports from the donor database
    • Supporting the WLP board fundraising committee
    • Supervising development interns and volunteers on an as-needed basis
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • 1-3 years professional experience
    • Commitment to social justice values, including racial justice and gender justice
    • Excellent organizational skills, including a high attention to detail
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
    • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, give and receive feedback, work independently, and handle challenging situations using critical thinking skills
    • Proven ability to interact with individuals who are from diverse backgrounds
    • Familiarity with Bloomerang or other CRM databases is a plus.

    Salary & Classification:

    This position is full-time exempt.

    The salary for this role is $50,000.

    Location of Work:

    WLP is a hybrid office. The in-office component of the work (2-3 days per week) will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    WLP permits remote work on a case-by-case basis when it is reasonable and does not present an undue hardship on the organization. WLP prefers employees to perform their remote work in Pennsylvania to ensure compliance with state and local withholding requirements and wage and hour laws.
