    Information Technology Specialist

    East Brunswick, NJ

    Laborers’ International Union of North America - Eastern Region represents more than 32,000 members in Delaware, New Jersey, New York City, Long Island, and Puerto Rico. The Eastern Region Office provides advocacy, organizing power and support to our Locals and members across the region.

    The Information Technology Specialist will provide technical and troubleshooting assistance related to IT system administration including network and systems troubleshooting, incident management and maintenance and enhancement of the region's IT infrastructure, and ensuring seamless connectivity.

    Must be a great communicator, able to translate technical knowledge into actionable user-oriented instruction.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, information technology, computer science, related degree and/or applicable technical certificate or related equivalent experience.
    • 3 to 5 years’ of relevant Information Technology experience.
    • Proficient in Google Suite, MS Office and relational databases.
    • Ability to take on unexpected tasks while continuing a daily routine.
    • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) preferred, not required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Configures, troubleshoots and resolves computer hardware, mobile devices, printers and software problems in a networked environment.
    • Provides or assists in technical training of users to ensure the proper use of IT hardware, software applications and processes/services. Proactively monitors applications, network, internet and cloud services to identify potential problems and to improve efficiency.
    • Assists users in extracting data from utilized relational databases.
    • Ensures that tickets are created for relevant incidents or service requests.
    • Efficiently manages incident and service requests to make sure they are promptly addressed.
    • Addresses unusual IT service interruptions understanding when to escalate and how to notify users.
    • Analyzes incidents/tickets to determine causes, if possible, and solves problems directly or routes incident tickets to responsible support areas.
    • Performs administrative activities such as creating user mailboxes, shared security/distribution groups administration and others as needed.
    • Monitors licenses and prepares purchase recommendations by identifying best fit options.

    Salary commensurate with experience: Range $70,000 - $80,000
