    Job Description: Would you like to teach in a warm and nurturing learning environment where teachers are supported and creativity is encouraged? ABC is looking for a preschool special education teacher to join the staff at Cassidy’s Place (419 E 86th St), which is a play-based program. The special education teacher will lead a preschool self-contained classroom of 8 children. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

    Responsibilities of the CPSE/HS Special Education teacher include:

    • Lesson planning, conducting assessment, and curriculum implementation
    • Maintaining a safe, nurturing, organized learning environment
    • Collaborating with classroom staff and multi-disciplinary team
    • Maintaining accurate and timely classroom records/documentation

    Qualifications of the CPSE/HS Special Education teacher:

    • NYS Early Childhood Education certification (Birth-2)
    • At least ONE of the following NYS Certifications: Special Education Teacher (permanent), Special Educator: Students with Disabilities (Birth-2), Permanent Special Education Certificate
    • Experience with ages 3-5 y/o
    • Must work well with children and families through CPSE processes
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • Being joyous with children and maintaining high standards, non-negotiable

    Salary Range of the Special Education Teacher: $61,070-75,517

    Full-time position. Benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance; PTO; a 403(b)-retirement plan with matching; life insurance; employee discounts; and parental leave.
